Italian police arrested mafia boss most hunted
Metro-reality.com, Naples: Italian police arrest Mafia boss of one of the most sought in Italy, a day after his brother was arrested, so that the blow to one of the most powerful criminal clans in the area around Naples.
Pasquale Russo (62), which is regarded as one of the major mafia kingpin 10 in Italy, has been a fugitive since 1993 and was arrested, Sunday (1 / 11) morning, at a remote ranch near Sperone, about 80 miles north of Naples.
In a statement, police said he was the Russo clan leader and described him as “very dangerous”. He has tried in court proceedings without the presence of the defendant and he has sentenced to life in prison for 13 murders and crimes related to the mafia.
Younger brother, Salvator Russo (51), was arrest on Saturday, after 14 years on the run. Brother the other, Carmine, was also arrested Sunday. Russo clan, centered near the town of Nola, is a leading player in the Camorra organized crime syndicate operating in Naples and surrounding areas.
