Condos in Oceanside – A Better Choice?

In this article we are going to discuss the pros and cons of buying a condo in Oceanside. We will also compare the differences of Oceanside condos and detached homes in Oceanside. The Oceanside real estate market is very hot at the moment. Almost every available detached home in Oceanside are getting multiple offers on them. There is a very low inventory level in the residential market. This is causing the homes that are available to be in high demand. With the homes receiving these multiple offers on them it creates a bidding war among buyers. This usually brings up the purchase price of the homes. When multiple buyers want a home they are made aware of the situation and usually increase their offer so that they get the property. Usually the buyer with the highest offer gets the home.

While that is what is going on in the Oceanside real estate market for detached homes, the condo market is a lot easier to buy in. There are a lot of reasons why many buyers do not think a condo would be good for them. One of the biggest reasons is that most condominiums in Oceanside do not have a yard. Another big reason is that many buyers think that if they buy a condo they will not be able to have a pet like a dog. It is true that most condos in Oceanside do not have a yard, you can find some that do, but most of them do not. But almost every Oceanside condo has at least a decent size grass area for their residents to enjoy. Many condo complexes will have quite a few very large grass areas located throughout the condo complex. Residents are also not responsible for maintaining the grass. There is usually a gardner or a maintenance crew that takes care of the whole complex. The owners do not have to mow the grass or pick weeds or anything. The money to pay for the services is taken out of the Home Owners Association (HOA) fees. Many detached homes also have HOA fees, but it usually does not cover yard work. Many condos in Oceanside also allow their owners to have pets and dogs. As long as the owners of the animals pick up after them it is usually permitted.

Buying a condo in Oceanside at the moment has a lot less competition than a detached home. There is still a demand for Oceanside condos but not nearly as much as there is for the detached houses. This means that a buyer can actually have a shot at buying a condo around the price that it is listed for. Since more than likely there will not be so many offers on the condo this means the price will not get bid up. This is a huge advantage for the buyer. Also the price of a condo in Oceanside is usually less than a detached home that is the same size. The condos are usually much more upgraded as well. They are also a lot newer most of the time. For the same price as a 20 year old detached home with popcorn ceilings, out dated wallpaper in the bathrooms and old carpet that needs replacing throughout you can find a condo that is the same size, has brand new carpet, new tile, new wooden floors, beautiful granite counter tops and only about 5 years old for the same price.

Many times a condo in Oceanside will also have an attached 2 car garage that leads right in to the unit. Most of them also have community pools and spas that can be used by the owners whenever they like. Many times they will also have a recreation room also which can have pool tables, big screen televisions and many other things for the owners to use if they are having a party or some kind of event. With so many benefits of owning a condo in Oceanside it is strange that they are not being bid up as well. Maybe when more buyers start to realize that they can purchase a much nicer Oceanside condo for the same price as a detached home the demand will start to go up. As for right now though there are still many very beautiful condominiums in Oceanside that are available to purchase.
